Grade 1 is also known as Year 2. It is the second year of compulsory education for regular school learners. This class is commonly called B1 or Basic 1 in our Ghanaian setting. The age ranges 6-7. It is the first stage of the lower primary grade.
Grade 2 is also known as Year 3 or B2. It serves as the middle stage of the lower primary. A child in grade 2 has completed 3 full years of compulsory education and strives to achieve balance in both academic and social life. Learners here typically fall in the 7-8 year group.
Grade 3 is B3 or Year 4. It is the final stage of the lower primary classes. Children in this class are independent by all standards. Their sense of reasoning and intelligence is fully exhibited as they complete the lower grade and move up the academic ladder. Learners here are between 8-9 years.
Grade 4 is the 4th year of primary school education. It marks the beginning of the upper primary education. Learners here practice their problem-solving skills. It is equivalent to Year 5.
Our grade 5 learners understand more complex forms of communication. They are critical thinkers and think about abstract things. They have improved planning and organizational abilities. Learners here are usually 10-11 years. It is equivalent to Year 6.
